The Real Threat of Islam: Its Religion
America is at war with
Terrorism, and the President has been careful to explain
that we are not at war with Islam. His calls for peace are
certainly understandable. Although those claiming Christ
have had some less-than-virtuous moments, the influence of
the Bible is seen in the peace-loving nature of the United
States, where freedom of speech is appreciated. And,
seeing that the Constitution disallows a state religion,
it is up to preachers of the gospel to show the religious
fallacy of Islam.
On this front, “the pen
is mightier than the sword,” as always. The New
Testament of Jesus Christ teaches submission to the powers
that be (Rom. 13), while the Koran teaches adherants to
“kill the polytheists ….“ (9:5,29,36) The civil
government of the United States will not get involved in
the religious debate, but those who espouse the doctrine
of Christ can and must speak up. First, Mohammad is a
false prophet. His supporters claim that prophecies made
of Christ and of the Holy Spirit were intended for
Mohammad. (Deut. 18:15; Acts 3:22; John 14:26) Christ and
the Holy Spirit proved their place in history by the
resurrection and other miracles. (Rom. 1:4; Heb. 2:4)
Mohammadism has simply “ridden on the coat tails” of
the Lord’s religion.
Second, the Koran is not
the word of God. One small comparison will make the point:
the Koran was produced by one man over approximately
twenty years, while the Bible was the product of 40 men
over approximately sixteen hundred years. Both having
passed the test of time, which one evokes confidence as
the product of God for you?
Third, Allah is not the
true and living God by name or by nature. The God of the
Bible wears the name Eloi, Elohim, Yaweh, Jehovah, or
God–not Allah. Further, Muslims reject the concept of a
plural-person God, which concept is evident from Genesis
1:1 throughout the Bible. My friend, if we can understand
that the U.S. government is composed of executive,
legislative, and judicial branches, we can also understand
that “the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit” is no
violation of the nature of deity. Allah is a false god.
Fourth, Islam perverts the
nature of man. The Koran portrays the next world as a
place of wine and several sensuous maidens for the
faithful men. But, what about Heaven for women? Will they
be happy sharing a drunken man with other maidens for
eternity? Jesus said that Heaven will be a place above
such carnal things. (Lk. 20:35) The Bible portrays men and
women as spiritual beings with the potential to live with
God in an altogether spiritual state. Islam misses the
mark.
As an American, I would
not have any kind of Terrorists overrun our country, and I
will pray for the just cause of our military. However, as
a Christian, I must warn all people of the spiritual error
of Islam and teach them the truth of the gospel of Christ,
which will result in their souls’ salvation. (Mark
16:15-16; 2 Thess. 1:8-9)
To those who would rather
not consider the moral and spiritual aspects of current
events, our country has too freely indulged in sin, a fact
upon which Muslims have capitalized (not that they are
innocent, by any means), and they will continue to point
to America’s excesses. Furthermore, we DO want God on
our side, which will be insured best by the nation’s
repentance. (Ezek. 14:13-14)
Therefore, those who are
serious about the war on Terrorism must also be serious
about religious matters. Even without Terrorism in the
world, each person has an appointment with the Judge.
(Heb. 9:27)
